| Utilization Tracking and
Oversight of Prior Authorization (UTOPiA) and Mental Health
Rehabilitation Services and Information Systems (MHRSIS) are two data
systems used in the prior authorization process. Service Access and
Authorization staff utilize UTOPiA to input member data which is used
for the authorization of services.
Providers utilize the MHRSIS data system to enter member data
including demographic information and billing data for each service
contact. Each service contact is documented on a service log by the
staff member that provides the service. The service log data is input
into MHRSIS and sent electronically to DHH for review.
Certified and enrolled providers must utilize the MHRSIS data system
to participate in the program. MHRSIS software and training are provided
for new providers once they have completed the initial certification and
enrollment process. The data system and training opportunities are
available at no cost to the provider.
